The World famous Tourist Site Taxila is a town and an important archaeological site in Rawalpindi district of the Punjab province in Pakistan.The Taxila site is situated about 32 km north-west of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.The Taxila archaeological site town lies 549 m above sea level.

Many people will have been visiting this world famous archaeological site every day, and the visitor will enjoy here, and takes the beautiful photo snaps.Some others are beautiful photo snaps and video clippings at this tourist site.

In the past years, the Taxila city was finally destroyed by the nomadic Huns in the 5th Century CE. Renowned archaeologist Sir Alexander Cunningham rediscovered the ruins of Taksasila in mid-19th Century.

According to 2010 report, Global heritage Fund identified Taxila as one of 12 Worldwide sites most "on the verge" of irreparable loss and damage, insufficient management, war and conflict as primary threats.

In 1980, the famous tourist site Taxila was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.In 2006, the Taxila was ranked as the top tourist destination in Pakistan by Guardian Newspaper.

The ruins of world famous tourist site Taxila contain buildings and Buddhist stupas located over a large area.It is now one of the most important archaeological tourist site in Asia, and it is also wonderful tourist site in the World.I have shown ancient Taxila archaeological photos above in this blog.

The world famous archaeological tourist site also contained several statues of the Budda and Bodhisattva. Taxila was discovered in 1911-1922 by Sir Joh Marshal who has been regarded as the discoverer of many other archaeological sites.

The Buddhist monument created throughout the Taxila valley transformed it into a religious heartland and a destination for pilgrims from as far afield as central Asia and China.The Buddhist archaeological tourist famous site at Taxila include the Dharmarajika complex and stupa, the Khader mohra grouping, the kalawan grouping, the giri mona steries, the Kunala stupa etc.

Taxila world famous archaeological tourist site is a multi-dimensional experience.The richness and variety of the farned Gandhara sculpture will attract the visitors, there are many images of Budda, in store and stucco and numerous panels are appeared.
